Four-Door Sports Car 2016 Nissan Maxima Arriving at Dealers
The all-new 2016 Nissan Maxima debuted at the New York International Auto Show just a few months ago, but it will be arriving at dealerships nationwide starting this month. The 2016 Maxima is making a strong comeback with bold styling, a powerful engine and a suite of safety and technology features.
Nissan’s eighth-generation flagship sedan is ready to go head-to-head with some of the top competitors in the luxury sedan segment with its excellent driving dynamics and luxurious new interior. Testing at Buttonwillow Raceway demonstrated a 2016 Nissan Maxima SR had the lowest lap time when put up against cars like the Acrua TLX 3.5, Audi A4 2.0T quattro and BMW 328i.
The Maxima has a reputation of being the “4-Door Sports Car,” and the new 2016 Maxima looks to continue that tradition. Signature Nissan styling such as the V-Motion grille and floating roof add to the lower profile and wider stance emphasizing the car’s performance.
A command-central fighter jet-inspired cockpit puts all the Maxima’s controls in easy reach of the driver. The luxurious interior rivals more expensive luxury vehicles, especially when equipped with the available quilted leather seats.
Engineers revised the 300-horsepower 3.5-liter VQ V6 engine that powers the sportier Maxima, and it is now mated to a performance-oriented Xtronic CVT transmission. In addition to more power, re-designing the engine has also resulted in 15 percent better fuel economy with up to 30 miles per gallon highway.
NissanConnect with navigation comes standard on every 2016 Maxima, with available 11-speaker Bose premium audio system and Nissan Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection. A number of safety and driving aids are also available, including Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Cruise Control, Blind Sport Warning and more.
