2015 Nissan Murano, West Haven, Hartford, CT – Harte Cars

Searching for a new Nissan Murano in the Hartford or West Haven, CT area? When it came to creating the 2015 Nissan Murano was a bit of a challenge for Nissan designers in Yokohama, Japan. The team wanted to make a vehicle that had the original model’s “wow” factor, in addition to being as aerodynamic as possible.

In order to achieve this ambitious goal, the team used a variety of tools to design the Murano, combining typical computer rendering and sketching with three-dimensional clay models. Some of the most iconic automotive designs in history were designed using clay models, so it made sense to return to using them for this project.

The 2015 Murano has many distinctive Nissan styling elements, such as the boomerang-style headlights and taillights, and V-shaped grille. Where these design cues are more subdued in vehicles like the Rogue and Maxima, here they make a much bigger statement.

The D-pillar is designed to look like it wraps around the rear of the crossover, which also makes the roof look thinner than it actually is. The finished product looks much like the Resonance Concept Nissan had debuted previously, especially in regards to the roofline and window shapes.

When it came to making the Murano as aerodynamic as possible, Nissan pulled off a 0.31 Cd, which rivals many sports cars. That is quite the accomplishment for a mid-size crossover that can still fit a family and their luggage comfortably.
